Happy summer! It's now "officially" summer, as we've passed the solstice. As promised, I've posted our new contest. (About time, I know.) I'm allowing multiple submissions on this one, for those of you with too much free time during these warm months, so make sure you read the rules to get the big picture.

It's really starting to feel like summer. I hope everyone is outside enjoying themselves. I'd like to announce that we'll be having a "Summer Fun" contest, though I'm not finished ironing out the details yet. I should have it ready by June 15... July 1st at the latest. It'll probably run until August 20th or so, since I don't want it to run into the school season.

Since 85% of those who voted so far were OK with the Collections idea or thought it needed minor changes only, I think at this point I'm going to make the executive call to change our submission system. Over the next month, if anyone has any serious issues with it, let me know. It should make it easier for me to process submissions faster. Make sure you're getting notified of new journal entries and new news... that's how you'll be getting submission updates!

Hi everyone,

To my surprise, I've actually started getting somewhat rude replies to my notes asking people to favorite original artwork, rather than club pieces. I thought I had come up with such a wonderful idea (the club watermark), and it has cut down on favorites some, but this new turn surprised me. My only idea is to remove pieces in the gallery and instead use the favorites system to display club artists' work. We could add artwork to our favorites, then have a big favorites block on the front page instead of gallery art.

I'd very much appreciate everyone's opinions, comments, and questions... go HERE to vote in the poll and post comments.

I think I'll be caught up with submissions by this weekend, so I'm aiming to have a contest posted by mid-June, maybe a mini-contest or activity also.

As your lame-@$$ admin I sincerely apologize for the period of inactivity. Unfortunately I can't return full-time until the end of my semester at the end of the month. I am still alive, I haven't forgotten you all, and I'm not planning to disappear again soon.

As of right now I'm looking for help with submissions, which I'm so far behind on, I don't know when I'll catch up. I'll do what I can, but it's going to take me time. Anyone interested please let me know... but you should be aware it's tedious and takes up a good bit of time.

Sorry, guys. I have been going crazy since Christmas with work and school, and haven't been able to give the club the attention it deserves. I'm about three weeks behind in submissions, and that's after the set I just went through today. I'll see how much I can get through in the near future, but we might need to start thinking about having someone else help out with submissions since we have so many.

I'm attempting to redo the journal to match the new layout of the profile pages, but since this is being done "in my free time", I don't know when you'll get to see it. I've got a good idea, so I hope you'll all enjoy it when I'm finished.

I know I offered a contest, but I've gotten so buried in work I don't remember what it was going to be. I'll see if I can come up with it again soon-ish.

We're still catching up on submissions that came in during the holiday season, so please bear with us as we crank through as many as we can. (Please note: we are only human!)

Congratulations to ~Kinsara, who earned the points required to move up to the rank of Mage! Go check out her gallery, she's got talent I would kill for. Give her some love!

Also, as ~Kinsara was good enough to remind me, we haven't had a contest in quite some time. The last one ended on Halloween, so it's time for the next one. I'll try and get the next one together as soon as possible, but it likely won't be for a couple weeks, as my semester doesn't end until the 15th or so.
